How do I delete a Resident?
If your renter is approaching the end of their lease term or needs to move out due to other extenuating circumstances, there are two methods to remove them from the Residents page.
Before deleting a resident, you'll first need to end existing scheduled payments. For more information on ending payments, refer to our Help Center.
Cancelling a new resident
If the resident is new and there hasn't been any activity, refer to the following steps to cancel the resident:
- Sign in
- Visit https://www.apartments.com/customers/residence/
- Select View details on the property containing the residency you want to cancel.
- Select the Edit lease term dropdown and then select Cancel Residency to and remove that resident.
Ending an existing residency
If the resident has added payments, created an online lease, or the resident has entered their renter's insurance details, you can end that residency by updating their lease terms dates to today's date. For more information on updating leasing terms, refer to our Help Center.
If you need that renter's information for future reference, you can find it on the Residents page by selecting the Status drop-down box to the right of the search bar and selecting Status: Ended.
