How do I manage my Resident's information?

With Resident Management on Apartments.com, you can manage your rentals and renters in a single location. On this page, you will be able to access details such as the renter's contact information, review and edit lease dates, and review payments, as well as upload documents and information about rental insurance.

Once you have access to the Resident page and added a new renter, be sure to review this next section about fields that can and cannot be edited for the Resident/Renter. 

If there hasn't been any activity with this Resident (no leases, no payments, no uploaded documents), you can: 

  • Edit the Resident’s start date under Lease Terms
  • Update their contact information such as phone and email
  • Cancel the entirety of the Resident

If there has been activity with this Resident (such as you set up payments, created a lease, or uploaded a doc), the options will be limited but you can:

  • Terminate the lease term

  • Remove a Resident, but not the original resident you first added

Tip: The option to make edits will be located in the box with three green dots to the right of the Resident's name.
