How is the overdue balance report created?

Need a fast and easy way to check on your payments and see if any residents have an outstanding balance?

The Overdue Balance Report gives you a quick snapshot of any residents that owe rent or other fees. You'll also see the number of days they've had an outstanding balance.

Here's how the Overdue Balance Report works:

If you're using Payments on Apartments.com, you can use the Overdue Balance report.

To run your report:

  • Select one or all of your properties on Apartments.com, and choose if you'd like to return just active leases, or all leases (active and ended).
  • Click 'Create'.
  • We'll return any Properties and Residents with overdue balances.

Reading your report:

  • Any payments with outstanding (positive) balances will be flagged and returned.
  • You'll see:
    • The resident and their lease status (current or ended)
    • The amount they owe
    • The date of their last payment
    • How many days the rental has been overdue
  • You'll have a link to the resident's contact info, so you can follow up with them or record any payments received outside of Apartments.com.

Have any questions?

  • Did your renter pay outside of Apartments.com? You may see a false positive on the overdue balance report. Make sure you record an offline payment to keep your info up-to-date.
  • If your renter just sent a payment today, it may take a few hours for their balance to update on Apartments.com.
