How do I use my Inbox on Apartments.com?

Your Inbox is the newest feature available to both landlords and renters on Apartments.com. To access your messages, select Inbox on the left hand menu.

Through your Inbox, you can chat directly with your residents about maintenance issues. You can also choose the method you prefer to receive and respond to messages, including by email or SMS texts. You will also be able to respond to messages in your Inbox via these methods as well. 

In the same left hand menu that you previously selected Inbox, select Account > My Account. From here, select the Notification Preferences tab to choose how you would like to be notified about new messages. 

How does my Inbox differ from my Maintenance dashboard?

Your Inbox will allow you to streamline communication with your residents. Any messages related to maintenance issues will be located in your Inbox, whether you and your resident respond by text or email. The Inbox gives you the ability to add attachments to your messages as well if you and your resident need to send images back and forth about maintenance issues. 

You will still open, close, and track your maintenance issues through your maintenance dashboard, but with the addition of the Inbox, your messages can all be found in one place, making it easier for you to communicate with your residents.
