How to edit users to help manage your properties

Important: This feature is only available for paid multi-family listings of more than 20 units.

User Management is a new feature that makes it easier for multiple users to manage Properties on Apartments.com.

As an Admin, you can do the following anytime you’d like:

  •  Change a user's access to Admin or Rental Management for the properties you currently are an Admin for on Apartments.com
  •  Edit the properties assigned to another user such as adding additional properties or removing a property for a user
  • Give a user Rental Tools Permission for a property
  • Make another user an Admin for a property that you are currently an Admin for on Apartments.com

How do I get started?

To get started, click on User Management under the Customer Tools dashboard.

Tip: You'll need to be an Admin for at least one property to view the User Management feature.

1
To edit a user's property permissions, simply click on  “Edit User” next to their name.
2
Select your desired property and click "Next, Edit Permissions".
3
Either assign or un-assign them an Admin or Rental Management Role by clicking the checkbox under each role.

What is an Admin Role?

Assigning a user to a property will allow them to:

  • Edit another user's Admin and Rental Tools Permissions to that property (in addition to having the ability to manage the property such as updating availability and office hours, adding and removing units and model information, and viewing leads and reviews)

What is a Rental Management Role?

Assigning a user to a Rental Management Role will allow them to:

  • View applications and screening reports
  • Create and view lease documents for that property
  • Access and use Expenses
4
Select "Save and Finish".

Tip: To quickly identify which properties are assigned to the user whom you'd like to make changes to, select "Show Assigned Properties"
