How do I capture and upload a 3D Tour to my listing using Matterport Max?

Overview

The following instructions will guide you through creating your first Matterport 3D tour, locating your 3D tour ID and completing the upload process on Apartments.com step by step.

Accessing Matterport tour assets

1. Create your tour

  1. Verify that your Matterport Pro3, Pro2, or Axis device is ready to scan, your source selector is set to your scanner, and that you have a New Job open on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the Options button at the bottom-left of your mobile device screen.
  3. Choose between Simple Scan and Complete Scan. Use Simple Scan to capture a space more quickly. Use Complete Scan to capture spaces in higher detail.

You are now ready to start capturing your space! Follow the steps on your device to capture your 3D tour.

2. Copy your 3D tour ID

  1. Log into your Matterport account on a web browser of your choice.

Important: You cannot obtain a shareable URL from the Matterport app. You must sign into your account on a web browser from your phone, tablet or desktop.

  1. Locate the Matterport space you want to share and select it.

Your space page appears.

  1. Select the Share button.

  1. Update the privacy level of your space to Unlisted or Public and then select Copy link.

    Your shareable URL is copied.

  1. Copy the tour ID portion of the shareable URL.

    URL example: https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=12345678910&play=1

Important: You only need the portion of the URL that is bolded in the example above. In the example above, it is 12345678910. Your tour ID will be 11 characters long. This ID is how you will upload your tour to your listing.

3. Link your 3D tour to Apartments.com

  1. Log in to your account, navigate to your My Account page, and select Properties in the left navigation.

  1. Select Edit Listing on the listing where you want to upload a Matterport 3D Tour.

The Edit Listing page appears.

  1. Select the Media tab, select 3D Tours, and then select the Upload button.

An Upload 3D Tour pop-up appears.

  1. Upload your 3D Tour.

    1. Paste your shareable URL portion into the Matterport 3D Tour ID field.

      Matterport 3D Tour ID example: 12345678910

    2. Select where you would like to display your tour.
    3. Upload a thumbnail of your tour.
    4. Enter a caption for your tour.

  1. Select Done.

Your 3D tour is added to your listing. Please allow at least 2 hours for the changes to be reflected on your listing page.

Accessing Matterport tour assets

Whenever you finish capturing a space, Matterport automatically generates media assets and stores them in the Media tab on your space page. Refer to steps below for instructions on accessing your tour assets.

  1. Navigate to your Matterport account and select the space you want to download assets from.
  2. Select the Media tab.

Your video and photo assets appear.
